The Tuscan Wedding Dream

One of the most sought after wedding destinations in the world surely did not disappoint during my month long visit. The naturally romantic ambiance of Tuscany, coupled with the rich food and wine culture provides the ideal setting for a picture perfect wedding. For my first wedding experience in Tuscany I paired up with Sara and Sandra from Il Bianco Eil Rosa for Marion & Stefano's breathtaking celebration at Fattoria di Larniano in San Gimignano, a picturesque city in the heart of Tuscany.

The venue itself provided such an intimately beautiful atmosphere, surrounded by the purest Tuscan countryside, complete with lush vineyards and olive groves, ancient farmhouses, a Lombard tower dating back to the year 1000, an Etruscan tomb, & Roman remains. With this type of naturally gorgeous setting, only subtle additions of decor were necessary. Regardless of whether you are planning a wedding in Tuscany or locally, selecting a venue with a lot of natural character contributes immensely to the overall feeling, and eliminates the need to exhaust the majority of your budget on decor aspects.

The couple opted to include a very innovative place card "tree" featuring embroidery panels hand stitched by the bride. The tabletop elements tied in gorgeous copper and blue tones, completing the look perfectly. Guests dined under the evening stars with dangling bistro lights adding an extra touch of sparkle over the reception area. The couple even hired an adorable vintage car adorned with gorgeous greens by Flowers Living, to escort them from the church to the reception venue!

Special Thanks to the amazing Giuseppe Giovannelli for beautiful Professional photos of Stefano & Marion's wedding!

The second wedding I had a chance to experience in Tuscany was with The Tuscan Wedding Team at the beautiful Villa Medicea di Lilliano Wine Estate just outside of Florence. The Villa offers spectacular views from the rooftop ceremony space of downtown Florence and the iconic Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore Duomo. The Estate's courtyards, gardens and indoor halls can host up to 600 guests and there is even a Chapel onsite!

Jack & Bell's ceremony was one of the most gorgeous I have ever seen, with 360 degree views of the Tuscan countryside. Flowers Living designed a stunning rustic arch which tied into the flowers flanking the aisle chairs. Their reception featured simple but elegant decor including potted plants and lemons to match the lemon trees surrounding the garden area. And really, can you have a Tuscan wedding without bistro lights?! Of course, the reception tables were set amongst the most gorgeous lighting, providing a remarkably romantic atmosphere for dinner and drinks.

Tuscany truly was a dream come true. Vacationing here in general is like experiencing a touch of heaven, could you imagine hosting a wedding here?! It's actually much more affordable than many would think.

However, regardless of whether you are able to plan a wedding in Tuscany you can certainly use many of these design elements as inspiration to apply to a wedding or event anywhere in the world!
